TTG Modular Standing / Hanging Citadel & Dropper Bottle Paint Rack – 56 Paints

We highly recommend assembling the basic frame of the rack with no glue at first, just to get a feel for how the paint rack goes together.

Then, once you’re familiar with how it goes together, we recommend using a standard white wood glue which dries translucent for best results. We don’t recommend using superglue as the set time is too quick. We do also recommend using a few pieces of masking tape to hold the rack pieces together tightly once glued until the glue dries. This will prevent any gaps.

STEP 1

Lay the left side panel of the rack on a flat table as shown above. Take note of the orientation of the left and right side-panels. The picture above shows the bottoms of the left/right side panels on the right side of the picture.

Insert the bottom paint holder piece, the seven middle paint holder pieces, and the top holder piece into place. Once all the pieces are in place, place the right side-panel on top, carefully aligning the tabs with the holes in in the side panel.

I have found that starting with aligning the top piece tabs first, and then the next piece, and then the next piece one by one down to the bottom piece works best. This part is a bit tricky and may require some patience to align all the tabs.

STEP 2

This next part is a bit tricky as well, but after testing various ways to assemble the rack I have found the best to do the next step is by using the corner of a table. Holding onto all the pieces assembled in Step 1 so that the tabs don’t pop out, carefully slide the paint rack towards a corner of a table as shown above. Then slide the bottom piece (right side of pic above) into place which will lock the bottom parts in. Then slide the top part in the same way.

If you run into issues where one or more of the tabs of the middle paint holders pops out during assembly, you can glue the pieces from Step 1 in place before proceeding to Step 2.

STEP 3

Next, lay the rack flat on it’s front side and attach the back plate cover as shown above, aligning all the perimeter tabs carefully. After gluing the back plate on, I like to place a few strips of masking tape in place to hold the plate in place while the glue dries.

STEP 4

This is the wall mounting bracket for the paint rack. Put a thin layer of glue wood glue between the two large pieces and push them together, squeezing out any excess glue that may be there. Then quickly, before the glue starts to dry use the four small connector pieces to lock the pieces together and ensure perfect alignment of the bracket.

At this point, it would be a good idea to wrap some masking tape around the two large pieces to hold them together tightly while the glue dries.

STEP 6

If you’re going to use the paint rack as a standing rack, you can now slide the two small feet pieces onto the bottom sides of the rack (shown above). These can just be slid on without glue if you want the option to mount the paint rack to a wall later. If you just want to use the rack as a standing rack and won’t ever mount it on the wall, you can glue these feet in place.

Once the glue on the rack and the hanging bracket is dry, you can attach the hanging bracket to the standing rack even if you’re not hanging the rack on the wall at this time. This will make sure you don’t misplace the bracket later. Do not glue the bracket to the rack, it’s best to keep it removable.

STEP 7

To hang the paint rack on the wall, mount the supplied mounting bracket using to your wall using standard screws and anchors (not included), and then carefully slide the rack onto the bracket at a 45 degree angle from the top. The rack will then slide down and hang vertically in place without needing to glue it to the wall mounting bracket.

Please note that the bracket and paint rack were designed to fit together snugly so that gluing them together wouldn’t be needed, so the two outer side pieces of the mounting bracket may need to be slightly and gently pushed apart for the rack to slide into place the first time.

STEP 8

Congratulations you now have a fully assembled paint rack!
